Rail Design of the alien line
The agency MBD Design is very proud to have been chosen by the Hong Kong MTR operator and the Chinese manufacturer CRRC Sifang to work on the design of the rolling vehicles of the alien line.
This section of high-speed train will allow Hong Kong to reach Guangzhou in mainland China in less than 48 minutes. MBD Design has brought its expertise on the exterior appearance of cars as well as on interior fittings, first and second class.
The outdoor delivery takes over the red of the MTR, adding the dynamism of orange and metallic grey in a fine rippling net. With the purity of the white, this crisp and elegant image creates a strong and unique identity at the same time.
Once on board, the passenger flows into a cheerful and restful atmosphere. The alternation of warm-coloured seats blends nicely with the wavy and refreshing patterns found on the floor and in second-class luggage racks. A very bright ceiling decorated with a few motifs contributes to the general atmosphere of wellbeing.
The business class is permanently anchored in the plant world with graphics that can be found on the seats, the floor and the side walls as well. The intimate ambience is decorated with muffled lighting at the end of the car. This sense of richness is found in the choice of materials and colors for the side walls as well as in the pace of the luggage racks. A journey in elegance.
Special attention has been given to everyone’s comfort with rounded head rests and integrated reading lights.
The first trainsets should be put into circulation in the last quarter of 2018.
